Have just looked underneath the vee and there appears to be a patch of liquid under the car :( Have ran my fingers over it as it was wet and also run my fingers over the floorpan where the liquid is settling before dripping and it appears to be a orangy/yellow coloured liquid - any ideas on what this liquid may be and what the cause could be as it hasnt been there the last week and only appears to have appeared after i parked up last night :(

Any help / ideas appreciated :)

Sounds like coolant....but did you have your air con on last night, perhaps you dont normally have it on ??

Have a bottle of coolant in the garage and it looks the same colour but the coolant is quite water like based to the touch whereas what is under my car appears to be thicker & stickier to the touch - the subframe of the car (both driver & passenger side) which is exposed next to the engine guard is also quite wet too (bangs head against wall)

Whilst under the boot (lol) noticed that the coolant is a tiny bit low so went to top it up and have found the last person who tightened the cap has tightened it off the thread at an angle so it is now stuck solid and wont come off - muppets!!!!!!!!!! [smilie=evil.gif] [smilie=evil.gif]

Based on the fact its a thicker fluid would i be right in agreeing with clarkie that it would be brake fluid as it is a thicker liquid??? Or could it be engine oil or would that be more of a darker/black/brown colour??

Getting a bit worried now as it was due an MOT on Tuesday and dont fancy the drive if it could be brake fluid :( Thats an accident waiting to happen

brake fluid is sounding more like it mate.
same stuff used in the clutch...could be leaking from the clutch mechanism??

Beginning to think this is the case - will jack it up & have a look tomorrow (if the weather improves) and check the levels and try and get it to my local dealer for them to solve it

This is whats great about this forum - post up details of a problem and knowledgeable peeps help out with quick replies - excellent stuff lads [smilie=bowdown.gif]
