FLASHING EMISSIONS DASH LIGHT

SimonLM

Has any one had there emissions warning light flash on there clocks?

If so how did the car behave and what cured it?

Ive had this once, on a seriously cold night. It flashed about 4 times and has never come on again since. Drove as normal when it was flashing lol

Not a coil James said his did the same and problem was coked up Lambda sensors, my car is far from standard and is decatted and running biger injectors so high possiblity same problem James had.

But please feel free to add comments if anyone has any more experiance with this (not if it was just a coil issue though please)

Cheers Simon

Hi Simon

Yes had this on mine as well - was crap acceleration + flashing engine light.

Turned out to be Oxygen sensor gone. OBD showed a P120 fault for oxy sensor bank 1, then later P300 for random misfire, then after bizarelly nothing

Check point 2 on my post for info and see if you can test the oxy sensors manually cos OBD doesn't pick this up correctly for some reason.

You can buy the original Bosch OEM parts here for 25% of the dealer price @ 50 notes each if its the oxy sensor gone, if you can't dig out the part no then pm me and i'll find it.

Also Mk1 clutch + flywheel with Mk2 gbox fits so getting it done end of Jan fingers crossed so thanks for advice!

Yeah guys big thanks for help and info.

I hope it all works out, getting full clutch kit and slave cylinder, phase 2 gear box, and doing tappets as well so cambelt + gaskets, all to be DHL'd end of this week :D

Do you mean the hydrolic lifters? Are you having issues how many miles have you done?

Yeap hydraulic lifters, normally 600 - 1k gbp for 24, I got a set of newly boxed ones for 200

Cars done 18.5k so not alot of miles. Recently on startup sometimes tappety / clackety at the top end for a few seconds or sometimes a few minutes, then when warmed up a bit chuffy on tickover. A few people have reported / pm me with the same problem on here, I did an oil change and flush but still there.

Overall it runs fine and I'm been picky tbh but cos the dealer insists on taking the engine out anyways for the box might as well get the lifters done as well, they did me a combined price on labour for the box and top end.

I just thought they were noisy most hydrolic lifters do make a bit of noise, must admit when I fitted my new engine it was much nicer sounding.

I know - probs been a bit fussy though it doesn't tick over as smoothly as it used to. Interestingly got worse after my oxy sensor went + the oil was dirty after just 2k miles probs cos of all the soot / overfuelling which probably didn't help things. But labour wise renault said 100 notes extra to do that and the box so might as well since I got the parts
