Does any one no if this is from a 21 or off another renault of sorts doesn't seem to be same as the others ?image.webp

...if you're getting a wavy idle, revs moving up and down, on a phase 3 with a stepper valve it's usually caused by the ECU control going weak. Mine was a terror for it, but since I had the Adaptronic fitted, it's rock steady :)

nice one was it only 3s that had coil pack or did late twos adopt it ? An when did the change the clutch cos my g reg 2 still has ph1 bleeder ball clutch ? I just took I t off cleaned it with carb cleaner an it's been sweet fingers crossed:dance.gif:

No, all Phase 2's are distributor. Phase 3 is defined by the fact it's dizzyless, although the late late phase 3 had more tweaks like an ultrasonic alarm system, and a tilt/slide sunroof (usually K-plate)
A few early phase 2's on a G plate had the bleedable hydraulic system. Not many, but later phase 2 and phase 3 owners like to steal the clutch pedals when converting as the bleedable clutch phase 2 had the pedal with a fitting for the bleedable master, that allowed for the foot rest. A phase 1 pedal when swapped into a non-bleedable ph2 or 3 forces you to remove the footrest or modify the pedal :) as phase 1's didnt have the footrest on the left.

So we have:
Phase 1 (Distributor ign, bleedable hydraulics)
Early Phase 2 (Distributor ign, bleedable hydraulics)
Phase 2 (Distributor ign, non-bleedable hydraulics)
Phase 2 Quadra (Distributor ign, non-bleedable hydraulics)
Phase 3 (Distributorless ign, non-bleedable hydraulics)
Phase 3 Quadra (Distributorless ign, non-bleedable hydraulics)
Late Phase 3 (Distributorless ign, non-bleedable hydraulics, tilt & slide sunroof, ultrasonic alarm)
Phase 3 Quadra (Distributorless ign, non-bleedable hydraulics, tilt & slide sunroof, ultrasonic alarm)

Thanks for you wizdom nice one :yes3.gif:

Can I pick you brain pls .. On a phs1 dose the sump slip out with out the sub frame off !! Cos it did on j reg nice an easy but looks a dog to do on this phs one . . An on the 3 couldn't find a gasket that would fit it so use sticker flex to seal it but the gasket would fit the phs 1 but to get off looks like sub frame off or miniature arms sn hands needed ? Thanx

Yes you can but its a swine. You need to undo the engine mounts and raise the engine up to get to the 16mm bolts out into the bellhousing and to get in to the back bolts. The sump gasket for a pH is available I have a few spare if you need one. The crankcase strengthener gasket on a ph2 is still available. I can get em anyway.

Do you mean you have a sump gasket for a 3 or 1 I've got one that should fit the 1 by the shape of it but not the 3 . Oh the joys

Phase 3's are the same as Ph2's. There's a rubber sump gasket that goes on the steel pan to the crankcase strengthener and a metal & rubber gasket that goes between alloy crankcase strenghtener and engine block. Which one do you mean?

The rubber one between the steel pan and CCS is rubbish, use Renzosil, SPARINGLY.

The steel pan one I ment mate SOS
