Fan still running after shut down

VII Car Care

New Member
Drove about 30 mins, temp gauge normal (mid way) shut the engine off an noticed the front fan still going.

My bro noticed the top hose coming from it was hot and the bottom was cool. Any way, it was an air lock which he managed to pump out a few air bubbles from the bottle on the front LH side of eng. It seems fine now but just want to know if any one else has had this prob plus shoud i be worried?

thanks

Front fans running after you switch off the engine is normal ...

Water enters the radiator at the top so will be hotter than the bottom normally anyway, especially if the fans are on. You can bleed the radiator with a bleed plug on the top of the radiator drivers side if necessary also.

ooh no Simon, shes a keeper

Martin, how long should it run for if it does happen again? It ran for 20 mins or so and only stopped when I opened up that bottle. Would it drain the battery?

cheers

might be worth doing an electrical reset. i forget how you can do it, but it's something to do with the ignition/stalk buttons combination.

i may be wrong though?!
