F7P Head vs F7R Head

Hy pals, how are you? ;)


I have a question, wich of this two heads completes (with cams and everything) makes the engine faster?


Do you understand what i mean?


I ever thought that F7R head was better, but i've readed here another thing, what do you think?

Depends which F7R you are talking about. The williams or the megane. The williams F7R has bigger valves and I believe the inlet and outlet ports are larger in size, the megane on the otherhand, not sure on the valves, but they have smaller ports which make a lot of difference mid range on torque, however its distributless.
 
f7r williams cams are more aggressive than the f7r megane cams, 1.8 f7p cams are again more aggressive than the meggy cams, so ideally you want the williams head with cams

its the profile of the cams, the meggy ones are abit milder than the f7p ones and again the willie ones are a tad wilder than the 2 ive said about

So, the ideal preparation would be:

williams cams and megane head?

or

williams cams and williams head?

it would be easier if you use the willie head and cams as the megane head needs to be machined to take the distributor (meggy engines use coil packs)
 
the megane head is a superior design, the 1.8 and Clio Williams heads have inlet ports that are way too big.

Thats why the megane has the same power output and a wider torque band than the Clio Williams.
 
i wouldnt port it tbh as chris said, the inlet ports are to big anyway, stick a set of cams in the head and do a full rebuild on the head ie stem seals, good clean and cut the valves in again, job done
