F4RT Power Curve - ClioSport RR Day (RS Tuning FTW)

Alright guys,

Was at a Rolling road day organised by the scottish ClioSport community yesterday and I thought I'd share the results.

The 2 degree temps and mighty detours due to the Forth Road Bridge closure didn't dampen the spirits and was a great turnout of road and track clios, some new turbo power (new Type R, Golf R, 335i etc)

All the measurements were at the wheels - this is the only rolling road that Knockhill sanction for the power certification for their SLS series (TimeAttack Format but all classes are WHP/Tonne - a nice way of handicapping imo)

My Megane made 215Bhp at the wheels on 2 near identical runs (was 212.5BHP at Rstuning, only FMIC has changed since custom mapping)

The mapper, Russ at HQ commented on how fantastic the power delivery was, the other car that performed and generated a similar recation from HQ's in house mapper (EVO speicialist and long running Club Pro TA Driver) was an unreal AG Clio 200 that has a jamsport Supercharger kit on it which was mapped by Paul at RS Tuning again....say no more...

307 BHP at RStuning at the flywheel - 251 BHP at the wheels today....

I know loads of people think paying another £50 for a map is uncalled for. but this kind of feedback from a proper legit specialist mapper really just shows what the standard is at RS Tuning - its a bit like the best consultant Doctors in their field command higher fees - and we all want our babies to get the best.

Great to have this kind of piece of mind about how the car is running as she hit 80k on the drive there.

Call me a fanboi ( I await the obvious ) but the amount of people out there who commend RS Tuning is unreal.

I spent literally thousands there on my Meg. Great people , and do the job once , and do it right.

Some great figures there @papps as well. Looked like a good trip out.

The clio's power curve is sweet - I'll try and get a picture and post it up. IT has a solid block of torque from 4.5k constant all the way to the redline - the power from 5-7.2k just keeps on going.

Its only when I was seeing the power delivery of other mapped cars etc, and then the fact the mapper was VERY interested in who did it really makes you realise how good the map on your car is - he also noted my OEM injectors were at 98% - talk about efficient as well lol

I had a proper Turbo guy in the pax seat at knockhill (he's owned Ford Turbos, EVO 4 &6s, Scoobies, r32 skyline etc - currently on a 200T EDC actually) and it was his first comment about the car, who mapped it? as it was such a smooth delivery.

You hear the stories of people that have their R26's remapped to 228?!?!?!?!, or the guy that had a turbo from a GT on for 6 months and a mapper didn't know what was up.......

I love to champion businesses / individuals that have done brilliant things to my car - currently RS Tuning, Rentec Autocare in Edinburgh & online trader trackfocusdirect - we all love our cars and spend far too much of our cash on them - its only right we try to guide others in the right direction.
