Exhaust clamps

Had to bust the clamps that connect the backbox to the pipes earlier as they were completly seized up. Does anyone know if these are standard clamps or have i got to go throught the usual shit with renault and order some cos they are v6 specific. :s

Thanks mate that will save me a lot of messing about. :approve:

Wana get the clamps on and take the vee for a blast with the new k-tec on it. [smilie=cool.gif]

When you all say standard issue, do you mean thourgh the Clio range, all Renaults or most cars??

I need some so what specifically do I ask my autofactors for?

ill see if i can dig out my invoice mate, the bloke used his book at autofactors and the clamp is used on most renaults so you cant go far wrong if you ask them for it. You will have two options the type that is currently on which i purchased, basically once on you bin it if you ever need to take it back of because it bends and warps or the other type where you have two nuts that tighten and secure it into place.

I just went for a like for like. Hope this helps.

Well firstly i went to renault and suprise suprise they didnt have any in stock and it would be 4 days till they got them in, so being an impatient little bastard i then went to five different exhaust centres and they didnt have any either!

Eventually i went to a sam centre and although they didnt have the vee on their system the bloke gave me ones for a 182 and they fitted fine, and they cost me a fiver for the pair.

Little tip... on the inside of the clamps there are numbers, the original ones off the vee had 076 stamped on them, the ones i got from the sam centre had 099 on them and they were the 2 piece ones with a bolt either side. The lower the number the smaller the clamp. :D

That was like writing a f"%king essay!! [smilie=hide.gif]

Sorry for sounding like a thicko, but if lower the number the smaller the clamp why go for 99 over 76??? i'm obviously missing something here!!

Your not missing anything mate, thats exaclty what i thought. Maybe its cos the clamp is the new two piece type but whilst in the shop with a selection of clamps the larger they got the higher the numbers on them got. :s

And god only knows why the clamp with 099 on it fitted but it did so i dunno. :D
