Engine out

How hard is it to actually do a cambelt job with the engine still in place or with just the drivers side mount off? What is renos recognised method for doing the job? engine out?

I wouldnt like to have done it with it in place, the big advantage of taking it out means you can access everything and give it all a good clean and inspection, as I found that a water pipe was wearing on the gear change weight.

Its not that hard getting it in and out as long as you dont mind improvising a little if you dont have a lift.

Regarding prefered methods, I would asume different folks different strokes apply, some one always has a trick or 2 when they have proper experiance and the right kit helps.

I ask because I have since found out reno did not take my engine out to do the job. Surely they have a workshop manual of some sort to follow?

I want to do mine next year. Just need to find a 2 post lift then come back and read big iain's method [smilie=bowdown.gif]
