Engine management light comes on!

Hi everyone, does anyone know if there is a limit as to how many times you can reset the engine management light via a diagnostics controller. Just worried if I reset it too many times in the future if the ecu many blow or something.

also went to wash my screen and had no fluid in my washer bottle, is the bottle under the bonnet?

One more thing my drivers side side vent (scoop) is a little looser then the passengers side, can this be tighten at all?

Cheers all.

Not aware of any resetting limit

Washer bottle under bonnet just beneath windscreen passenger side, oval black cap.

Check side pod screws, you'll need a very long screwdriver for the rear screw. (B)

Why are you needing to reset the management light?

Excellent James thanks for that. I suppose I don't need to really. I think it's one of those lights that just annoy you. I was also told by the previous owner that I can reset it when it appears. Do you think this is the wrong thing to do then?.

The question is, why does it come on?

If you have a de-cat exhaust fitted, then the light will come on. This, to my knowledge, is the only time the light should be 'ignored' I have sport cats on mine, and the light will come on eventually. Might be worth looking into Gavin

Yea my exhaust is de catted. Oh right!! So nothing really to worry about then? But as to your knowledge there is no limitation to reset if I want to reset? Or is that a question to ask Renault?

I hope there's no limit!! LOL

To my knowledge there isnt. I'm sure my favoured v6 specialist would have informed me if there was. :approve:

There is no limit at all, and the only reason to go to reno is to get fleeced.
yuo need a friendly guy, (like me) with a snap on solus or scimilar that does a cheaper reset. i would want to be sure it WAS the exhaust, and not take for granted ignoring it when it is actually something else. that could be stupidly expensive.
