hello i have a 1.4 energy engine in my renault a friend of mine has a vw polo with a 1.6 head on a 1.3 block both off a golf and bike carbs and this has got me thinking is
is there anything compatible like head piston wise that i can buy that will give me added hp ? could i change the cam for a 1.6 and the head as well im a newbeee to renault's and dont reli know how it works im not even sure if its a E6J engine as i stated in the title any help would be nice if this is silly i do appoligise

thanks matt

but im not aware of anything that can be done to that engine as far as mating it with another one that wouldnt result in a lot of work and expense really, loke if it was 1.2 itd be very handy to use the e7j to turn it to a 1.4 but 1.4 upwards, ive not heard of anyone doing anything with them on here anyway

aaaaa fair play ive bought the right car but with the wrong engine back to ebay to find a old scraper then i did see a 7fp engine on there for 75 quid is that worth a punt and what can you do with those

p.s thanking you for the help so far !!!

F7P? thats a 16v 1.8, a lot can be done with them im just not sure what needs to be changed to do the conversion really, prob a bit of work in it and a few bits needed but challenges are always good and its a freakin awesome engine, no question about that

You can put a 1.8 8V throttle body on it I think, and open out the manifold to match.

Or, the K-type (1.6 meganes etc) is basically a reworked Energy... depends how much modification you're prepared to do or if you just want to bolt on and go...

i have to say a well kept e7j is a pleasure to drive, i just had my one in the saloon reconditioned and its very peppy to drive

for my own curiousity chris what would you recommend to get a more enjoyable drive from an e7j? any mods or just keep it well
