Bit of Friday detective fun, I was looking through some old photos and saw this picture of V6s lined up at Dieppe:
Given the rarity of the Acid and Liquid Yellows I fancied my chances of identifying some of the cars in the line up.
I did a bit of searching online and found the source of this picture to be: link which was a meet up for 50 years of Alpine at the Dieppe plant.
The webpage states that on the 7th of May 2005, they had a factory tour, presumably when these pictures where taken.
Cross referencing this with the factory records. Only 2 Acid Yellows were built in 2005. And one of them was completed in May 2005 and that is UK car [v6plaque]290[/v6plaque], which was the last Acid built. This car is owned by a club member so I thought it would be interesting to share.
The other 2005 Acid built was months beforehand (UK [v6plaque]295[/v6plaque]) and this car was on the road in the UK 2 months before this picture was taken. All other Acids were built in 2003/04 and well clear of the factory by this point, so I am confident that this is correct.
Looking at what other cars were completed at the same time, there were 4 LHD illiad's built, so the second car could be any one of those, and the RHD titanium at the front is either UK [v6plaque]320[/v6plaque] [v6plaque]1264[/v6plaque] or [v6plaque]1267[/v6plaque] which were all completed in May 2005
[v6plaque]320[/v6plaque] was completed just 2 cars before Acid Yellow [v6plaque]290[/v6plaque], so odds are it is [v6plaque]320[/v6plaque] in this photo, but we will never know for sure.
I cant make out if the 2x Liquid Yellow cars are RHD or LHD from the photo, but no RHD cars were produced that month and 3x LHD were, so I presume they are both LHD. LHD LY [v6plaque]1291[/v6plaque] and [v6plaque]1296[/v6plaque] were produced at the same time, so possible that its those two pictured.
As for the photo of the Liquid Yellow shell also picture on that site
This could be one of 23 cars completed after May the 7th, it looks to be a LHD shell, although the angle isn't great. 14 of the 23 were LHD, so that doesn't help much!
