DA Pollishing help

before I burn the paint on my car can I just pick your brains on which pad to use with which pollish please?



ive got the power, super and final finish from this lot.

my thoughts is are that I would use the fast gloss with the abrasive white pad, the power finish and super finish with the orange pad and the final finish with the yellow pad.



Am I on the right lines?

no no no no no noooooooooooo

its hard to explain Doc, but you need to start with the least abrasive combo as possible. i know that sounds a bit strange, but you need to start "from the bottom and work your way up" mentality, as what you are trying to do, is take the least amount of laquer of as possible. you can always pop over for a bit of tuition

you also need to add some "last touch detailer" kinda stuff too

yeah i did some googling and found that out. wasn't sure about the detailer though. could you use water and fairy liquid as an altenitive rather than paying for quick detailer?

no, dont be tight

nah, trust me fella, get 5 litres of the stuff, it dilutes 50/50, and it has multiple uses

yeah I thought so lol.

so I've just been reading about the zenith point technique. the artical spoke more about use with a rotary but said to use different speeds starting from 600 rpm - 900 - 1200/1500 and then back down through 900 - 600. I'm guessing this will work on a da but I dont think mine can do it as it's single speed.

DA's i think spin at a faster rate anyway, but it doesnt matter too much, same principal but different speeds
