Cruising Europe in a Clio V6

You are right Shaun, the Hotel de France is a great place and we had a terrific meal in the restaurant last night. I will try to say hello to Paul and Sally this morning before we leave and also have a look for the Origine RS sticker

The château is called
Chambres d'Hôtes Château de Bellevue 16210 Saint-Avit

We found it on Booking.com or you can contact them through their website. It is well worth the visit especially at €70 per night including breakfast. Let me know if you get there.

Brilliant. Thanks

Checked it out, what a bargain. I'll keep it in mind.
Bit far for a weekend, anyone stayed anywhere nice in the Champagne region?

Well we are back after a great trip. On the drive home we popped in to here

and paid homage here in Dieppe

To summarise the trip, we covered 2814 miles over 14 days averaging 201 miles per day. We used 450 litre of fuel achieving an average of 31.6 mpg at a cost of 17.2 pence per mile. Best economy from a tank full was 36.4 mpg and the worst was 28.6 mpg. All this information is thanks to the Road Trip app on my iPhone5.

The Clio drove faultlessly with no mechanical issues and the car didn't receive any damage along the way. The only unexpected expense was having to replace the rear tyres. We discovered if you pack sensibly it is easy to drive around Europe for two weeks and even take your bikes with you in a 2005 Clio V6 Phase 2.

Thanks to Helen for coming along for the ride and thanks to Scott for sorting out a few minor issues with the Clio before we left.

Looks like a great trip. I've certainly enjoyed reading about it.

Your wheels look in about as good a state as mine when I came back from Le Mans. Are they still silver?
