Cruise Control

Hi Guys,

I noticed the other day that my cruise control sometimes just fails to activate. I was on the motorway doing 70, and no matter how many times I flicked the switch and pressed the buttons on the steering wheel it just didn't come on!

Then after about 20 minutes, I was going about 80something and all of a sudden it allows me to turn it on!?

It's happened once before, and it's very strange because if I experiment with the switches, I notice that the speed limiter always switches on if I want it to, but it's the cruise control that's the temperamental one (i.e., it surely can't be a wiring problem).

The guy who I bought the car from had gone to a garage and had the cruise control set so it cannot come on until 30 or something. Maybe this is the issue??

Cheers,
Phil.

Will this trip computer reset remove the settings that my previous owner made?

i.e., is this a soft reset or a factory default reset?

Cheers,
Phil.

It wasn't a remap, it was some "personal adjustments" that were made. e.g, keep radio on when ignition off, turn off auto-lights, etc, etc.

Some of the changes I don't mind, but some of them have caused a couple of annoying little issues to crop up!!

On a similar note my rear wiper decided to stop working for about 5 mins yesterday then all of a sudden it came back on again when I flicked the switch...... anyone else experienced this and also would a dash reset help?

Once on the mway my rear wiper went on constantly and i couldn't turn it off! I played about for over 10mins (still driving). Was quite worried then all of a sudden it stopped by itself! French cars! LOL
