Cruise control switch

Hi, does anyone know the part number for the dashboard cruise control/speed limiter on/off switch on a Phase 2? I can only find 8200084864 in the parts book, but I think this might be just the support plate for both the cruise switch and dash light rheostat. I should think the cruise switch would have been used on other Renaults of the era, but maybe not.

Hi Paul,

I’m very confident the switch is also used on Clio 182 so if you can’t get a brand new switch, used one from a wreck 182 should work.

Is your cruise control playing up and you suspect the switch is the culprit?

Thanks Kris, but would you believe just this afternoon I picked up a 182 switch from a breaker over east! It's on its way to me already.

My cruise mostly engages, though occasionally not, so I'll try the dashboard switch first. The steering wheel switches play up sometimes too, but I have a new wheel I've been saving. I rarely want cruise on the V6 anyway, it's just nice to get it working.

Hi Paul,

I had cruise control issue with both my Clio 182 and v6, not wanting to engage (more often not working with the v6).

The 182 had ESP and SERV warning came up on occassions and it was caused by faulty brake pedal switch.

The v6 never display any warning message and the issue was with the steering wheel clockspring cable assembly.

Just in case replacing the dash cruise/speed limiter switch doesn't fix the issue and you want to investigate further.

Kris
