Coils............

Coils coils glorious coils!!!

Only thing that annoys me about this car. I was all set to meet my pal with his new vee for a few pics and I didn't make it out of my garage. Knew straight away it was a coil, only my 2nd one to go in 2 years, gonna fit a new one tomorrow.

Still love the vee though

Coils nearly made not buy a vee as everything mentioned the dreaded coil word when researching problems with the v6.

Once i realised how much they were and how easy they were to change i thought jee's i can live with that compared with trying to keep a 93 scooby WRX on the road :)

Oh and i have had 2 go in 4.5 years.

Change them all in one go mate. I got valeo ones at not a bad price. No probs whatsoever.
Was it stood for a while before starting itby any chance?

These are the times mine went, one was after recharging my battery after a 2 month lay up the other after a 2 week holiday.

Same here stood over winter for a good few weeks. Had 2 go. Prior to that for 2 years or so not had a problem.

Sure this is in the other massive coil thread too!

The engine sounds very rough, you might see an emissions warning light on the dash. Coils are available form Renault dealers or even Peugeot dealers *see coils main thread for details

The funny thing is it did zero miles over the winter from November until February and I have started to use it more regularly and a coil goes. Still an easy fix and everytime I look at this car I know it's worth it.

Rant over! Lol
