Coils

Had my first coil go today. Got one from Peugeot for half the price. Started the car to make sure everything was good. Revving 100 times better than before.

Problem is that the engine light is still illuminated. Tried dis-connecting the battery but its still on!!

Not driven it anywhere yet. Not got the time tonight.

Is there a way of extinguishing it or will it go out when its been on a drive?

Thanks in advance

Alex

Hi Alex.. you've not had the car 5 mins have you..? lol.. Unlucky fella..

Had the same problem with mine whilst in France earlier in the year. I ended up HAVING to drive th car with the light still on after i'd replaced a coil.. as i couldn't find a suitable dealer i l;iked the look of near by.. It does go out after a shor time m8 The computer will reset its self. Dont know if that was entirely the right thing to do, but have had no problems with the car since, and that was 5 months and 5 thousand miles ago.

Hope this helps.. LB

Should go out on it's own accord.

Still waiting on my first coil to go...

Alex can you post that part number for me?!

The part no' i used came from here. The no' is 597094. I had to get mine from Peugeot in Minerva Street out your way. It was the only one in Scotland!! I asked the 'parts' guy if it was common for them to be changed due to failure, and he told me that they never have any problems with them.

Cost me £28. Renault was £45 + vat and never had one.

Don't wish a coil failure upon yourself now!!

The Pug ones do look a little different (white top to them) but I'm sure you'll forgive the asthetics for the price. It's not as if you can see them anyway!
