For anyone interested gsfcarparts sell the coils for £18.10 plus vat. The part number is 925PE0000 which fits several different types of car with a V6 in it, including Citroen, Renault and Peugeot. Delivery is also free though there are main branches around.

If this is correct, that is an amazing find. Legend!! [smilie=bowdown.gif] [smilie=bowdown.gif] [smilie=bowdown.gif]

Exactly what it says on the tin ...

... 4 coils arrived yesterday, and it was free next day delivery :-)

....COILS.....!!!!!!!!!

ANOTHER coil went on mine (same one as before) 5 minutes after I had set off to York Modified Chav Show...GRRRRRRRR....I was well annoyed....sounded like a Sherman tank again.....proper yikey yikes moment...fortunately, I had my spare with me, my tool set and a timely liason with a Muffinmeister who did all the dirty work for me..!!! ;) ;) hahahaha!

Just had my first coil give up the ghost at 30k miles and 5 mins later all sorted with the spare I had in the boot.
Spoke to Renault and complained, they have agreed to sending me a free replacement coil ready for next time.... whenever that may be... [smilie=hide.gif]

How did you manage to get them to agree to that? Is your vee still under warranty?

No my Vee ran out of warranty a couple of months ago. I was just a bit forceful and eluded to the fact that I knew how many other people had experienced the same problem and therefore they couldn't BS me

Could you maybe pm me some more details Oatz? i.e. person's name and what you said etc? Think i'll give them another ring as I got nowhere!

Cheers

Well i got my vee this week, had biggest grin on my face untill i pull off from a set of lights coughing and spluttering, AA guy passing by said it was my coils.

happy days :(

should i just replace them all for peace of mind ?

Got No 3 replaced yesterday by local dealer. (First one for this car at around 11k miles). About £90 but will be covered by the warranty.

He was telling me that Sagem were factory fitted to all Vees.

I was/am a bit concerned that I had to drive her there (about 10 miles), worried I may have damaged the cat. He said it should be OK as long as I take it easy, which I did obviously! She seems fine today. Is there any way to check it?

My 2003 mark 2 were all Sagem coils.
Sage advice to me was to dump the Renault parts and fit Denso equiavalents - better performance and reliability.

Coil number 2 went for me this morning - unlucky for me I was too lazy to go and buy a spare so I couldn't just phone up the AA man!!. I'll buy one tonight on my way home and give him a call.

ps, will the AA man have all the tool's he needs (i.e. an 8 or 10mm rachet and a rachet extention?).

I'm so happy this forums is here - the nearest branch is 3 miles away from me and they have 4 in stock so I'm going to go and pick a couple of them up. I'll give Mr AA a ring then and get him to come and fit the coil

£55 each from Renault plus £60-ish for fitting....where as it should be £25 all in doing it the 'v6clio.net way'.

What price were you quoted Nev? The website now shows £21.50 +VAT (£25.26) so looks like the prices have gone up! Still a lot cheaper than going to Renault though.

Yeah they were £21.50 +vat each (I got 3). I got a socket set as well whilst I was there and they threw in a 10% discount.

Cheers
