Coils - The Final Word!

  • Thread starter Thread starter Anonymous

Gentlemen, seen I do not remember where that a possible reason of coil failure can be accelerating engine same time as starting it,because during first seconds after start calculators initialize themselves, and engine need to run on idle for this short time, accelerating during calculator initialization can supposingly cause coil failure.Surprisingly nobody related such failure on French "CV6passion" forum ,Have you try to drive right side.... [smilie=cool.gif] ,we will keep an eye on your problem, let us know any news.
Friendly yours.
Phil.

If your out of warranty just replace them with the trophy coils - Scott can get them and I'm sure he can fit them!

I've never had a problem since changing

I may well be going down the trophy coils route very soon.

3,5, and 6 all packed up 14th July 07 :)

Another one went today. This is the 3rd in 2 months. Renault have agreed to cover under warranty. Car is has done just over 17000 miles and is just over 2 yrs old

Does there seem to be any correspondence between the coils failing and the build date of the car?

I was trying to find this out as well, but the thread just dropped off eventually - so not enough conclusive evidence was gathered.

Porsche would have given the part for free...
...then charge £100 labour + VAT to fit it!

I have Pug/Citreon coil, new make, new Part number 597094 ( previous part no. 597077 ) this Dephi coil appears from the outside to be better construction with beefier case and resin encapsulated, will it last ???

Had my first coil go on Saturday. Glad I had a couple of spares otherwise I would have been stuffed!!

Rang Renault UK up today who really are useless!!

Does anyone know if the coil issue is still being looked into?

For anyone interested gsfcarparts sell the coils for £18.10 plus vat. The part number is 925PE0000 which fits several different types of car with a V6 in it, including Citroen, Renault and Peugeot. Delivery is also free though there are main branches around.
