Hi all, long time since my last post but heres a good one, a bit long winded but....
A little history -
3 coil failures, 1 replaced under warranty March/April 07. One failure Oct 07 (lees than a month out of warranty paid for by myself
. One failure Jan 08.
The car has done 38k miles
Ok extremely Pi**ed off that the coil went @ 7am pulling off the drive as i set out to take my wife to work. Couldn't get a Pug part any time quickly so I gave RUK a call and spoke to a Lady called Maureen Baile, she said she would look into it and call me back either the same day or the next. She never called back, so, phoning up RUK I was informed she was off sick but was back in and would contact me soon. She didn't. Anyway I though sod it and got it booked into renault and sorted the following day.
I then received a letter from Maureen saying she had tried to contact me but was unable to, please could I contact her. I phoned and told her I couldn't be bothered to wait any longer and had sorted the car out myself at the expense of £112.10. Surprisingly she then offered to to pay for the last two failures
.
Five minutes later she called back and apologised saying she could not get authorisation to pay for the Oct 07 failure but would still send a cheque for the Jan 08 failure.
Today I recieved the cheque with a letter as follows
Thank you for your recent contact regarding your vehicle.
I would like to apologise for the trouble you have experienced, so I am enclosing a cheque for £120.10 (Not a typo £8 bonus.) , as a geture of goodwill.
I hope that your faith in Renault has been restored and if there is anything else I can help you with in the future, please contact me on our frrephone number:
0800 072 3372
Thank you again for getting in touch....
Not bad eh, I think I'll put the money in a savings account for when the next one goes
