Clutch and DMF?

scrabble

New Member
Hi

Is it true to assume that if you change the clutch on the phase 2 V6...then 9/10 the Dual Mass Flywheel needs changing as well?

If so then why is this?

Thanks guys and girls.

Didn't know that !

You may need to change the flywheel if the friction surface is scored and can't be skimmed ...

Its just a rumour. What is it about DMF's that makes so weak? I have heard so much bad press about them on all cars?

Anyway, the cheapest quote so far for a clutch change is Ktec with an all in price of £640. This is includes slave cylinder and fluids etc. Renault want £820 all in.

£640 Sounds about right but you could have a few other jobs done at the same time for just the cost of the parts.
My local Renault stealer quoted me 600 quid just to change a water pump.

The flywheel does not need changing everytime and if it is scored can be dressed up, just the muppets that dont understand what they are doing again. if you contact LUK the manufacturer, there is a wall chart available to all garages giving details on construction, fitting, and all important ,HOW TO CHECK IF FAULTY, i think most LUK suppliers have these but as always folk seem to walk round with there eyes shut.
the factors andrew page can get them.

PERHAPS, just another way of unscrupulous garages making money?
DID THE GARAGE HAVE BIG WINDOWS..........
SO THEY COULD SEE YOU COMING?

Just remembered, should keep my mouth shut as i have one for sale!
yes, change it every time, buy mine its mint!

depends if you are dropping the motor out, it can be done in situ and i think brett is the man to ask.
