Clio V6 insurance?

Got to renew the Clio in a couple of weeks, currently with Sky but lost all faith in them so won't be going back to them. Remember speaking to Greenlight last year and thought I'd go with them as they seem to be loved on here, wasn't really going to bother with other quotes but after what's come back I need to shop a little more I think:

Sky - £435, £350 excess, protected no claims, legal etc.
Greenlight - £469, £300 excess, all of the above I think.
Hastings Direct (via GoCompare) - £380, £250 excess, everything bar protected no claims.

I'm sure last year, albeit I swapped to the Clio part way through, it was way under £400.

I'm 26, 8NCB, no accidents etc, D rated postcode, car is on the drive, 3k miles a year, the car has a stainless back box, otherwise standard.
I want to go with someone good, and also wil probably be swapping the Clio to an M car in 3/4 months so got to plan ahead a little bit for that. I want good service over lowest price but high £400's is just too much.

So, anyone got any recommendations? Definitely not Adrian Flux, and definitely not Sky.

VERY surprised it's so cheap considering your in a D rated postcode. I'm about that in an A rated postcode.

Hi,
Do you mind if I ask why you wouldn't try ourselves for insurance?
Regards,
Dan.

Hi Dan,

I've used you guys in the past for a few policies and to be honest I've never had great service, and the internet is generally full of unhappy customers - sorry to be blunt about it!

Going with Greenlight insurance in the end, managed to get below £400 and they seem about the best of any insurers I have spoken to in terms of interest and help. Well recommended for anyone else looking for a new policy.

I agree. I insured through Adrian Flux for 1 year. Had an accident that was not my fault and their 'claims' service was terrible. In the end I had to sort it out myself with the 3rd partys insurer. I would never use again.

Hi,

Sorry to hear this guys, unfortunately the internet is full of negative reviews for most insurers. We will always try and rectify issues where possible.

If I can be of assistance in the future please do give us a try. We are UK based specialist brokers and have been trading for over 40 years.

Please do drop me a PM if you need any insurance help.

Kind regards,
Dan.

Too right Dan.

I'm not actually with Flux, but get a very good deal from a certain seafaring company every year and their service is 100% (and I'm very fussy allegedly) The internet is rife with negative comments about them! Perhaps secretly they prefer ginger customers? ;)
