Clio Key Fob

Does anybody know if the Key for 172/182/v6 is different from the key from a standard Clio?

Needing a replacement and am wondering if its specific.

Cheers, G

On that one I would call a dealer and ask for the latest info.

Just looked up a replacement key fob and its tells me these have been replaced by more items to convert to key card system.

I can get a new fob from Renault (around £80), dealership is pretty reserved about giving out information to prevent me going else where i guess...

how desperate are you? i'm currently bidding on one off ebay that is supposed to definately work for my 2002 v6, got to get it recoded to car, but my local autoelectrician has checked and his box of tricks has the function to sort it so should'nt cost too much. If you can wait i'll let you know how i go on

farmersclio, yeah i'm looking at that exact one too, but there are similar looking ones going for cheaper. Wasnt sure if the internals are the same or not. Renault will recode it for £40 quid plus £15 for razor part of the key.

GrantR...where did you get the blank razor? I bought a key fob for a tenner and it looks like my original one.

Also, does this key fob activate the alarm as well because at mo I have a seperate fob without blade that does the alarm and a seperate key to start the car and do the locks etc..

I just searched ebay for "clio key remote" and below came up.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0425297765

I also have a separate key fob and remote fob. This all in one fob should activate the alarm once reprogrammed, but this is what i am going to find out when i take it to Renault to get reprogrammed.

p.s. Any luck with the part number for those Bosch discs?

I cant actually get the old discs off my car. They are totally seized and will require a puller or a great big hammer. I have yet to try the discs to see if they actually fit. For now I have just put new Mintex padsin...seem ok.

That's a bugger scrabble, a rubber mallet might do it? You could even put some WD40 on it as long as you clean it all up with some thinner/white spirit after wards.

Maybe somebody else has some bright suggestions...

I might have to let em soak with a blast of WD40 or something simliar?

For now the car seems to be stopping ok. I had those bloody Redstuff pads in before and not only did they eat the discs the stopping power was rubbish as well. Mintex so far are so much better and now I can actually brake.
