So little update for today, bonnet catches fitted. Will do need to re visit it though as I'm not happy with the strength in the aluminium that's been used, it's strong but does flex a little. Here's some in progress pics
Should have the runner extensions next week some time and the ecu back from scoff. Still got lots of little bits id like to do still to tidy up the bay, battery relocation and an enclosed area for the air filter
mapped ecu back from chris, so ill get that in there tomorrow, hopefully all features will be back on, if not chris is going to copy the map over to my 182 ecu for me so it will then retain the cruise control, so either way its a win.
i also have a modified scenic shifter on its way to me. These are 40mm taller than the stock arm but with a short shift added to reduce the throw. I couldnt really stretch to the pure motorsport shifter but this will be a nice compromise, easier to reach when driving in anger and a more positive shift.
Also on the parts list is a set of second hand but brand new front suspension top mounts, ill see if at a later date i can get hold of a proper strut brace that ties into the strut top mounts so it actually does something rather than the omp ones that bolt to the metal work around the strut tops.
oops, yeah, ecu is in and the car is FLYING!!!!!! gets to 6k and finds what feels another lump of power and takes off to 7.5k. Though the eml has come on for the rear lambda sensor due to a decat and the cruise defo doesnt work. Original ecu is going up to scoffs and he is going to swap over the maps but keep the software plus delete the rear lambda from the ecu too. So will be the same map but keeping the original features
Oops had an issue today, driving along for fun I drove through a puddle, the little one loves it. Was a little bigger than first thought. Anyway carried on along my journey about 5 miles, jumped out the car and turned around as I akways like to check the car out (who doesn't?) to see this
After a quick head scratch to figure out what had gone on I went back the way I came to find the bumper in someone's driveway on the opposite side of the road...... Back on now but a little battered
Mate I can't even believe I didn't realise it came off! But yeah water must of got against it and momentum and air must of flipped it the rest of the way off
Next up, the scenic shifter and new gear knob. Now this is sold as a refused throw and taller shifter, measured up the throw is within 5mm of the stock shifter travel, so probably shorter than a scenic but not the 40% shorter it's sold as. That aside, the shifter being taller is now in an awesome position and feels just right and where it should of been from factory, I've always found the seats a little high or the stick a little low, not anymore so win
Old vs new, the lower part under the car did require me to move a small heat shield.
