Cleaning the Alloy's

Be careful with polish as it is abrasive, the standard wheel finish i.e. before a re-furb is very thin and you can easily polish through it. As said the best way is wheel sealant, which is different to normal wax as much more resistant to heat. Poor boys can be layered so a few coats will help it to last once sealed the dust will rise off with a pressure washer, you should not even need a cleaner. If you have sealed your wheels just use a mild soap not a wheel cleaner as you will strip the wax off. U can also try (after sealed) bucket of soapy water and a detail brush to get in all the spokes will not take you long.

Get them alloys off & whack on some polish, sealant & wax!

Then just clean carefully with some safe shampoo & plenty of brushes/cloths

I have a small length of plastic pipe with a wooly thick sock over it. I can get in between each spoke that way. Also use megs wheel cleaner.
i like the idea of a wooly sock over it, but whats that got to do with wheels. ray, i didnt know you kept your polish at the end of the road, is that a bit awkward.

PMSL works well in this cold weather! :)

Absorbs tons of water but does the job nicely

Matt do your socks come with days of the week on them? Whats the longest time you've spent rubbing in between the spokes?

I admit I was watching the Allo' Allo' programme last night! I never did understand half of the jokes back then!

As topics go, I think this topic must win a topic prize for the most gone off topic, yet still on topic, topic.

^^^ I persumed Ray was making a joke mate :)

I kinda gathered that Mossy lad...A light hearted comment, but quite possibly true, as Ray isn't 'renown' for his car detailing, he flies the 'performance upgrade' flag with many others on here, Right Ray? :approve:

I thought my reply was pretty light hearted.. Apologies to Ray if it was too straight laced.
