Cigarette Lighter Socket

Hi Guys,

A quick question for you all!

When I bought my car, the cigarette lighter piece had been lost, so I just left a plastic replacement piece in it. I then bought a replacement from ebay (2nd hand) and it didn't work. So I went to Renault and spent 20 quid or something on replacing the whole insert with replacement wires too. (this was after new fuses were put in to test which also didn't work!)

I really don't know what else to try now and I refuse to let Renault take the dashboard apart as it has no rattles and I know it will if they get their hands on it! (not to mention the cost!)

I really need my lighter socket working for the German GP visit (not for smoking!). [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Any help would be muchly appreciated!

Cheers,
Phil.

Sounds like you've tried everything! Could be the replacement insert's a duffer? Find a confirmed working one to try?
...otherwise it's time to get the multimeter out me-thinks.
