CoupeDave took his car for an MOT and it failed - badly.
He done the front brakes himself but he wanrted me to sort the rest of the problems.
These were handbrake cable, rear pads, cambelt and MOT.
The car was dropped off to me and Dave got the train home to sunny Fife (about 60 miles away).
Heres some pictures of the car

So straight away there was a problem, the throttle pedal was heavy I had an idea what it would be and I was right, the cables roller was rusted solid

Sods law the thing broke!

I had another one and it was free, some copper grease on it made sure it would remain free

Right away the accel pedal felt a lot better as expected.
Whilst having the initial nose around I spotted this, how it happened I have no idea.

[BREAK]
Heandbrake cable change time, the old cables inner had snapped so the handbrake never worked on the nearside, new cable was bought and fitted of course

fitted at the lever end

I had to kick the rear nearside wheel off as it was corroded solid to the hub, this pic shows the corrosion, I copper greased it to prevent a future repaet of this!

Someone had been in before, the seal was burst, I refitted it and fitted new pads

I was informed that the fron OS caliper slider had siezed so I set about sorting that out, nice and rusty

got it out and cleaned it up

cleaned the rust and brake dust from where the pads slide on the carrier

The top slider never even had its gaiter fitted right so the slider was greased up and the gaiter fitted right

The TB was gummed up as I knew it would be

after it was cleaned the car idled better and revved sharper

So it was then the belt change, old belt

new belt fitted

the car then sailed through its mot test.
