Changed oil every 3 months?

Possibly due to the milage and its age. If its always sat through the cold winters not being started or warmed up oilways and galleries can form condensate which isnt ideal when mixed with oil. Nothing wrong with changing the oil every year regardless of milage anyhow. On average I think I changed mine every 5-6000 and after every track attended.

Not sure of the merit in having an oil change every 3 months........not a bad thing, but not sure of any added benefit.

#002 has had an oil and filter change every year of its life since new. Since 2014 I have switched to changing oil & filter twice a year, the first is when it comes out of winter hibernation and the second soon after Origine RS (track day).

#314 has at least an oil and filter change every year.

Unless you're really hammering the car on a weekly/weekendly basis I can't see the need to flush the oil more than once a year. That's overkill and whilst you could argue it doesn't harm the car, the more you take the covers off the more you take the filters off the more likely you are the strip bolts or damage components.

It's not a high stress/compression motor! It's a big taxi lump and I think sometimes people forget that!

Relax and enjoy it!

In the past, oils could become acidic and attack the bearings and other components in an engine if the engine is run for short bursts and intermittently, also when run for long periods beyond the specified change periods. new synthetics do not have this problem to the same degree as they have buffering agents to stabilise the pH. Even so a sump full of oil is much cheaper than a new engine :approve: Agree with Ali's sentiments though, bang on for most people

As Ali says it's a solid lump and remember service intervals are every TWO years so doing it annually is already pampering if it does less than 6,000 miles a year but doesn't sit in hibernation for most of the year.
