Firstly these are serious comments ...

I applaud you for your research and offering the results out to others Ray but do you think you will be getting value for money with ceramic coating ?

I don't know much about ceramic coating myself in all honesty i.e. what are the actual benefits of it ? ...

Perhaps it reduces the ambient temperature of the engine bay, something the v6 needs. I often wonder if something else would be glowing white hot as the heat can't escape through the ceramic coated bits.

Interesting topic. :approve:

value for money bmc omg recaro bulkheads perspex screen carbon this and that ask the same question about these im having mine done on along list of mods etc dont give a monkeys if yany one buys or not this is what i have found compared to the rest out there its cheap generaly 100 degree drop in temp on coated part under cover temp down by 15 20 deg? 3- 5bhp gain compared to the vast amount of money i have spent to end up with lesss horses than renault send the car out with fakking bargain i say :race:

ifany one does need more info look on zercetec site if you want it you will have to go through me so no messers

if you want to cook ya spuds im sure there will be enough heat left in engine bay to shrivel em mate

Ok so I live in Hong Kong where temps in the summer are 35c, which means a hotter than average engine bay.

But why would I pay 11ft x 40 quid = 440 gbp when I could buy this from ktec for 17 quid that does the same trick?

Just a thought....

because there two different things and if you can wrap it for 17 good luck oh yes and no ones twisting your arm are they not enough research i think  ;)

Was more tongue in cheek comment to be honest per previous posts

But more seriously my car lives in far more extreme temps than European cars, so dont see the point when i guess i should see it the most - doesnt overheat, or feel down on power e.g. with KW's like yourselves have never thought I wish I had a few more horsepower driving down that straight or round a corner, if only my exhaust was a bit more chilled out!

And lets face it having a 3 litre engine im not really going to think about miles per gallon savings. Call me sadistic but I enjoy getting my trip computer to register as low mpg as possible - cos you only live once so live properly!

Maybe I am one of the few who is happy with my vee as it is - because its a flawed french loaf of bread that only another 9 owners in hong kong have the privilege of owning in a city full of tons of ferraris, lambos, maseratis and err a few maybachs and rollers, porsche panameras are a bit rarer though I must confess

picked exhaust up tuesday look the dogs but we will see when they are fitted suspect wont be able to tell much differenc ewhen they are fitted but every little helps you can never have enough horses ;)

totaly agree tim they will make some difference but will have to see on long term test to lemans

Im having completely see through carbon covers ( you can look in but not out - its new) and so everyone will be able to see my nice new manifolds.
Then i can communicate with my Motec ecu via my crystal ball and it will tell me what the running temps are, i have the original figures from before it was done so now i can compare the two.

less heat less loss less heat less loss [smilie=thanks.gif]
is your crystal ball usb or wireless? and where can i get one, are they suppilied as std by motec?
