can`t open my bonnet!

put my bonnet back on today, went to open it and nothing so the bonnet is stuck down! I have undone the 4 bolts at the front of the engine bay so it is only the catch that is holding it now.

Is there anyway I can undo the bonnet! Please HELP!!!

is the cable snapped on the bonnet release mechanism? or have you tries someone holding the bonnet release catch open while you pull the bonnet? some of them dont 'pop' any more.

i dont think it has snapped no. I think it may have been stretched. I have tried lifting the bonnet whilst someone gave a good tug on the bonnet release inside the car and nothing. I think Im going to have to jack up the car tomorrow and stick my hand up and try to release it manually. Lucky for me the downpipe, exhaust and many other bits are missing from the back

can you not take the trim off under the steerin wheel (where the lever is) and take the lever off and pull the cable with molegrips as the lever mite be at its stops :wink:

Mine did this, i basically had to jack the car up, take the front passenger wheel off, arch liners out and then get a long pole and a torch and tap the bonnet catch mechanism untils it pops free

I'm sure if you wanted to be aggressive, you could use a crowbar ... But, if there are better ways not to do damage ....

well luckily i had my front bumper off and the grill so just got a crow bar touch the mechanism and it worked!!!

I would have yanked the bonnet up if it was my standard one but this ones carbon fibre :shock:
