It's there for a reason. Have you tried adjusting it, assuming everything else is ok? You can just put a fuse between the wires. I've chopped mine and crimped it but I'll be running more boost than the sensor will allow.
If you don't know the answer to that I really suggest you don't do it. As Haz says its there for a reason.
You can bridge the wires with a blade fuse, or adjust the screw in the middle of the sensor to turn the cutoff point up/down, use a multimeter and a mityvac to set it up.
What boost are you running? The sensor is usually adjusted to allow enough boost that the injectors can fuel for. Turning up the boost without increasing fuel delivery WILL blow the engine up.
iam running around 13psi it seems fine then every now and then the safety kicks in probs boost spike or sommot
iam I right in saying a stock engine will take 21psi max ?
So is it a boost spike or not? If it is and you increase the boost it will spike more. If you increase boost until injectors are at max and it spikes you will blow the engine. 21psi will blow up on std injectors. 18psi seems to be the limit, that is assuming that all injectors are flowing correctly.
Sort out the spike first, check fuelling with afr gauge then you can increase boost. If not you will blow it up
well sometimes the guage reads 1.1 then 1.2 /1.3 so not 100% sure whats happening then it will hit cut off im using bleed valve but not touching it its like it ajust its self what would cause this ?
ive got an lm1 kit so could sort afrs out / would you only recommend 13psi max on stock injectors ? could I increase to ??? with other injectors and whats best to go for ? also is there anything else need sorting like jets or that sort of thing or don't they have any ? like ive said before I only know my way round a 5gt
On my last phase 1 i ran a dawes device, bridged the switch with a fuse & ran a steady 17psi for ages with no problems.......
If it's spiking it's probably a ****e bleed valve......try removing the said bleed valve & see what boost you're running of the actuator...then go from there....DO NOT wind the boost up to crazy levels....you will blow something up........(probably Haz....:wobble
its running stock boost if I remove bleed valve ive been told to bridge the switch is it under air filter cover hows it bridged I don't wanna just up boost and blow her that's why iam asking whats what but I wanna get the most out of her for now till I can get more upgrades
Hi Dave.....could he be confusing the anal valve with the over boost switch.......??
Most people remove the anal valve & re-plumb with a dawes devise (between the actuator & boost hose) & leave the over boost valve alone.......he did mention something around the airbox so that would indicate the anal valve.....correct..???
