Bumping into an old owner

Likely to be the last run for the V6 this year. I attended the Autobahn Scotland trip from Edinburgh to Aberdeen for the night.

Great weekend, great people and fantastic weather and roads. Some fundraising for the RNLI too.

Upon arriving at the hotel and needing a much needed beer I got chatting to a chap who asked what car I had, explained the Clio. He mentioned he owned one years ago and wish he kept hold of it, long story short we figured out my V6 was his old one! Great chatting about it all and hearing his stories.

The next day a local breakfast get together was arranged, as he was local I bumped into him again and he kindly gave me some old magazines he had and a V6 paperweight, top bloke! I also arranged to meet Simon in his LY, and got even more gifts of a V6 forum key ring, coaster and overview/history of the V6, good read. We then took a nice drive along to Aviemore before we both headed of home. Still get excited seeing another V6!

Some machinery present over the weekend but the little Clio held its own and seemed to gather a lot of interest :approve:

10 years owned and bloody love it.

What are the chances!! 1 in around 300 I guess!

That's really cool Ben, one of those chance meetings that make the car community so special.

My wife’s uncle spotted you at Stonehaven

It appears the UK is a small place! :)

This was one of the stops, RNLI based here and we all had a chat with an MBE volunteer, very interesting. Then pictures with the rib, awaiting for some photos but chuffed with this one.

What a coincidence. Given how smart your car looks Ben, I'm sure the previous owner must have felt he made a big mistake selling.

Thanks David, credit to past owners too I think. :approve:

He seemed to have a few interesting toys, including a Ford RS200, Escort Monte Carlo and some form of McLaren plus a few others :race:

Great back story, and what a coincidence it was to bump into a former owner... :approve:

Vee looks superb.
