Description

Sadly I have to break project Iceberg. :(

The arches have just gone to far with the corrosion, which saddens me as I was really planning great things for it. Such a shame considering previous owners' work as well. However as I've been quoted several times, it's not irreparable just a hell of a lot of work, and nobody wants to touch it. And I can get a better one once the space is freed up.

So I am breaking it, and I am taking everything out, all that will be left is what is welded to the shell and needed to keep the wheels attached. :D
I have everything up for offer, and will be keeping anything not sold for my parts bin :)
Will post smallish items. Can arrange collection for anything larger if needed from either East Midlands or South Wales. I'll even offer a delivery service for a little added extra if it's on route between Northamptonshire and Cardiff, depending on size and distance.

Pm me, or email [removed] if you need anything.

Ill take a few tomorrow, dark now :)
Grille is a little covered in oily marks. And bonnet is rust free I believe. Both have good paint condition as they were resprayed early last year.
Might have some pics in the project report.

well if the bonnet is rust free, its mine :)

not to bothered if the grille is olily as its got to be prepped for new paint anyway, just as long as its intact.

engine mounts & gearbox mounts? there are lots of parts i need but too far for postage not to mention expensive

shame to break it though mate, would you consider buying those arch repair panels from the bay for it or is it worse than that again? theyre only a tenner or so

I don't mind posting if you'll cover it
I could get the mounts off (hoping it'll still sit without them!)
I'm upset about breaking it too, but it's in a bad way, engine is sound mind, it's just the shell. I'll need a whole new sill, rear arch panel fabricating and most of the floorpan out. Both sides! Too expensive for what it'll become, and there's no guarantee it'll stay rust free.

how much for the leather seat lewis?

i see what you mean alright, there's no rush on the mounts so whenever you need to remove the engine just keep me in mind for them although the idea chris proposed is a good one, it'd really add to the legend of the diesel...

As far as I'm aware the exhaust is standard apart from a bodged backbox, which maybe available if I have no need for it, t's a scorpion jobby, cut just after the box. The seats are already claimed by chris1980 once I've put them back together! Anything else you need? :)

i could use:

a throttle cable bracket that is in one peice
the little 'dog leg' hard plastic section that joins the air valve to the air filter pipe
i435.photobucket.com_albums_qq72_jrlno1_pipe.webp
a radiator bracket, the one by the power steering reservoir
the plastic air scuttle that goes infront of the radiator
a working aux water pump relay

let me know if you got them and what you'd like for them cheers

I reckon you should shove the valver engine in the diesel along with some of the goodies!

Nooo, then it wouldn't be 'the diesel' anymore! Plus I've got a new one for the 16v power! But I am stealing some of the goodies ;)

I do believe I have all the pieces you mentioned. Although the radiator shroud was cracked and it split when I removed it earlier, my apologies :(
Aux pump relay is almost brand new, found it on the clio engine in the back, runs for just over 8 mins if your curious :D

As for the elbow pipe bit, is it this?

I have them all in a package ready to go, if you want to pm me with your details.

dog leg / elbow either way that's the fella!

U think that shroud will survive the post?

I am grateful for the bits matey, just a shame that the Iceberg's breaking up. Atleast it lives on in the cars of Retro(y)

The shroud might survive but there's no way of attaching it, bloody holes are all snapped :(. I posted the other stuff this morning first class, let me know when it turns up.

It is a shame as it's another 19 that had potential, apart from the shell. I am really trying to get rid of everything though so just the shell goes to the scrappy. Keep all the other bits for spares :)
