Brakes

My brakes don't seem to work that well, they do stop me but I have to push the peddle pretty hard especially at speed, also noticed when slowing down, ie slowly pulling up to traffic lights waiting for them to change and braking very gently, the car kinda feels like its pulling backwards and forwards if that makes sense? and lastly... damn brake dust! my wheels are covered in the black stuff after like just a 10 mile journey, I'm having to clean them practically every day, is this normal?

Discs are warped if you're finding them on/offing - get them checked then whack new pads on all round DS2500 or redstuff - dust is good - it means you stopped

I had my brakes looked at and it turned out it was partly that the car had hardly been used in the last 18 months, and partly down to my new car paranoia :D but I just bought these off ebay to keep as spares as they were so cheap, anyone know for sure if these defo will fit the vee? I noticed on the box it says Citroen XM range, are there alternatives for the fronts too?

Great! cheers, thought I had a bargain after reading somewhere that oem ones cost around £200 but looks like I paid too much lol. Any tips for fronts?

No Rich you didnt pay too much mate. Think I paid £35 for mine.

I have got Mintex MDB 2207 on the front.

Just as good as the Bendix :approve:

Think they are about £50. (But dont quote me on that! lol! :D )

I had exactly the same problem, i thought my discs were warped, but it turned out to be the front left caliper bound on, i serviced my breaks my self, gave em a good clean, put in new pads and made sure they slid in and out smoothly no nip points on the shims, cleared it up, perfectly balancd breaking now, no swurves or tipping :) still using the same discs to... might be worth checking befor you fork out for discs....as my steering wasnt wobbly under heavy breaking, i ruled out warped discs...
