Brake pads Ferodo DS2500 vs EBC Yellowstuff

Who can objecively offer any input into this question?
Basicall i can get both for the same money but have no experience of either pads.
I know all about how good DS2500 are for sheer stoppng power but am not sure as to how much disc wear they inflict on discs.
The yellowstuffs i really don't know about apart form the marketing bullshit...
Anyone got experience?

Cheers

Currently running the Ferodo DS2500 on my Focus RS with AP Racing 6 pot conversion - they offer great stopping power but the only thing that does annoy me about them is the amount of brake dust they generate - even on light braking my black alloys are brown after a few days :( As far as i was aware as well aren't the yellowstuff specifically designed for track only use rather than road use?

Must be a nightmare cleaning the vees wheels with the brake dust from the Ferodo's (cry)

I've got Feredos on the rear and they are a right pain in the back side for dust on the wheels. They are good pads overall and offer excellent stopping power.

DS2500 on the rear? Sure? I couldn't find them anywhere and that included ringing every supplier tha tFerodo themselves list for racing pads....

Yellowstuff are "Ideal for Heavier and Faster cars in street and track driving."

"EBC yellowstuff is the ideal compound for Trackday and race driving but has the special benefit of being street usable with its high initial brake effect. Yellowstuff emits similar dust to OEM pads yet is kinder to rotors than typically aggressive race brake compounds."

So safe for road use.

Has anyone used the yellows? I'm just wondering how they compare to DS2500 - from everything i've heard DS are messy as, and, i would imagine this means they wear away like the clappers

I've got Pagid on the front and Yellowstuff on the rear, no problems with braking and def improvement over standard setup. The yellowstuff do look like they could cause excessive disc wear though from initial inspection.

Yea, got them from EK brakes in Lancaster - they are the same as the front pads on a Citreon Zsara (i think).

I knew that the caliper on the rear of the Vee was from the front of a Citroen ... so sounds about right.

if you can get hold of a part number that would be really useful as we have gone through pattern book after pattern book trying to find a match with no success.

It is a citroen caliper but it must be an obscure one like the xara or xantia VTR or V6 - one of the rare ones anyhow.

Citroen XM from what i've found - it's a different part number though. EBC Part number 882 vs 1526 [31526 -red 41526-yellow]
I cannot find any equivalent in DS2500
I can only assume they are OE Ferodo compound....

No... but i reckon if they have the tooling to produce the OE pads then they should be willing to produce DS as there is no setup cost associated.

And the discs - well they aren't going to be renoff prices are they... Worst case of the offset is wrong i can design some bells for em and get the centres hacked oot on a lathe.

Who wants to approach them? I might have some luck if i use my work email address :)

Nothing ventured nothing gained.....

have circuit supplies approached them then? I have now, maybe [conspiritorial as it is] the more people that approach the aftermarket guys the more they might sit up and take notice.....
