Bleeding Brakes

Is there any special way to bleed the brakes on the V6 or is it pretty straight forward like normal cars :?:

Im changing my rubber hoses to braided ones and obviously gonna get air in the system.

Any advice appreciated.

Can someone pleez help. :cry:

Ive changed all my hoses todayand front pads, Ive bled all the system but when i go along the "STOP" light and the brake light come on intermittently, anybody got suggestions why? Theres plenty of fluid in the resevoir.

Could there still be air in the system, and i also had the calipers off to paint them.
Could it be to do with the ABS SENSOR?

abs sensor very unlikely as its just a wheel speed sensor that you won't have touched.

Favorite is low fluid - you say no - or the float in the resevoir ins't floating properly.

If its bled well there'll be no air!

Didnt think it would be the ABS sensor, just wanted to check,

Hopefully its the float.

Well the pedal dosent feel spongy at all, so hopefully its bled properly, would air in the sytem cause the light to come on??

Have you got any photos of your calipers now they are painted? I think I'm going to do mine but can't decide on the colour although blue is the favourite at the moment. My old Puma had blue calipers from the factory on a blue car and really suited it. Although in the pic below they had faided a little

If its not spongy it should be fine and the light won't come on for air - just low fluid and low pad warning

Has the Veee got low pad warning?

There wasnt any wires going to the caliper!

Hopefully its the float in the resevoir.

The AP writnig didnt comeout the best but its still work in progress and i will get it spot on if it kills me

Are the "AP racing" decals? Where were they from?

I had pad warning on my first set of pads before i fitted the 6 pots

Only pad warning I have is on the rears.

Im the same johnV6, no pad warning on the front, just the back.

The AP logo is stenciled paint but it wouldnt take to the caliper paint so a rethink is required and maybe Its going to have be Decals,

I just had the logo made into a stencils at a sticker place near me.

If you want some "DECALS" let me know as im gonna get them made next week and ive got them the exact size for the caliper. :wink:

If not ive got the logo on disk so i can email it.

I'm thinking of doing my calipers but possibly going down the powder coating route. Would there be any possible problems if they are powder coated? Also, is there any way to safely sit the car without the wheels on??

No need to sit without wheels on - just remove the calipers and pop the wheels back on.

I took the caliper off and then put the wheel back on, if not four axle stands should do it.
