£220 is alot of gold for the calipers to be refurbed in the first place, let alone ruined!
my rear ones for the gtt were £53 each from my local GSF.... was in not economical to get remanufactured ones from GSF or likewise?

OK, so... 2 years on.
The 19 is coming up for MOT again soon and I got an advisory for handbrake effort last year so I thought I'd have a look and see what the score was.
This is what I found:
The top pictures are exactly as I took them off the car, I have not pulled the rubbers about. They are totally perished and fucked. Maybe this is just very poor quality parts, maybe they used the wrong type of grease and it's eaten them. What little grease is left in there doesn't look like the black moly grease that should be in there.
The lower pictures show the slider bores that have been grit blasted as mentioned previously, plus THEY HAVE GRIT BLASTED THE PISTON BORE. WTF?????
I think it's safe to assume that the bore for the handbrake slider has also been grit blasted. Will pull them apart and confirm at some point.
Seriously, you'd have to be an utter, utter moron to do this.
