Following the hugely sucessful TurboRenault.co.uk remap Group Buy organised by our very own Mr @andybond; @Mart and I went up to RSTUNING recently to see how our MK2 Megane RS's were performing.
We both bought the cars being told that they had already been previously remapped by 3rd party tuners (NOT RS TUNING) so were both expecting the mapping session to be just a case of checking everything was running to plan and seeing if anything could be improved upon by the Gents at RSTUNING.
Both our cars have pretty much identical states of tune & modification:

I was up first, so the old girl was strapped to RSTUNING's Truth Tellers...
(10 TR Points to those of you who can spot the subtle support for the Internet's #1 Turbo Renault forum in the picture below..) :bt:

After she was all strapped in, we went ahead and did the first run. I was told that this car had previously been mapped by a large Renault Tuner in the south coast of the UK :bw:and was running 260BHP...

So the first run was done to see what was happening, and this popped out..

246BHP... but look at those AFR's! The car was running SOOOO rich, I'm surprised that I couldn't see Petrol coming straight out of the exhaust!! Paul commented that at 4500rpm, the car was starting to knock, so the map was trying to pour MORE fuel into it?! Summing up... the car was in a bad state of affairs!
Paul then started to work his magic and things soon started to improve:

Eventually settling on a final figure of 271.2 BHP together with a much smoother power curve and MUCH higher AFR. I was happy!!
Next it was the turn of our very own @Mart to run his car:

When we put the car on the rollers the guys first thought there was a boost leak, but it was the noise coming from the cone filter than was making us worry! Mart had his concerned face on:

Again first power run yielded a disappointing result to what Mart was expecting @232BHP. We found out that Mart's car was running a map from one of these black box plug in places Wonderful Chips or something: :do:

Again Paul worked his magic on the rollers and the numbers started to climb:

Before he settled on a figure of 268 BHP.

@Mart and I celebrated with a burger and then went our separate ways home. Following the drive home we both noticed a dramatic improvement in our MPG figures from the car from 24 (in my case) to an identically indicated 37.7MPG!!!
All in all we were both thoroughly delighted with our experience of RSTUNING and I would recommend any of you to take your cars there for a looksie by Paul and Specky
