im looking to get some new tyres for the V as it is currently on axle stands while the wheels get powder coated ready for FCS!!!

what tyres do you run on yours? i currently have Pirelli P-Zero's and they seem ok.

was thinking maybe Continental SPORT CONTACT 2 90Z, Michelin PILOT SPORT 2 90Y, Goodyear F1 GSD3 EAGLE 90Y or Toyo T1-R PROXES XL 94Y.

has anyone had any experience with these?

Myself and many other MK 2 owners say the Falkens are a good choice.

I think these are possibly MK 1 sizes.
205/50/17 93Y Falken FK452
235/45/17 94Y Falken FK452

I've no experience with those you posted other than the Michelins. (which wore out rather quickly on my MK 1) ;)

One vote for Falkens here. Were on the car when I got it. Very good tyres indeed and will have no hesitation replacing them with the same when the time comes. Very grippy tyres and seem extremely well suited to the Vee's chassis.

Just oredered two rear falkens for mine. Will see how I get along but come highly recomended. :race:

i am suprised at falkens to be honest i thought you rear wheel drive lovers would be after as much grip as possible as we all know what the car is capable of!

falkens seem to be reasonable (around £77 each)

i may try them but otherwise im thinking of spending a bit more and going for some eagle F1's

F1 's are an excellent wet weather tyre. Pilots are best suited to dry conditions. I remember when Toyo's were the 'poor man's tyre'... just shows what the big firm are spending on marketing. I'd go for the Falkens.

What kind of price are falkens? Am I right in thinking there lower end tyres

They aren't budget, but they aren't Premium tyres either. However if you are banging a set on, id advise you stick them on all 4 corners, as I think its important to have same tread patterns on front and rear.

I guess it really depends on how you drive the car, if your taking it to track etc.. I poodle along, and feel I need no more grip than what the Falkens can offer, even in the wet.

I can highly reccomend the Falken 452's for the dry - grip is excellent. They are not as good IMO in the wet as the original Michelins.

I found that the cheapest place to buy them was Camskill tyres in Carlisle. They will send out by 24 hr courier.

Good man :approve: The power of the forum has triumphed again! In 24 hours you have purchased a set of tyres you hadn't even considered previously. You won't regret it at all. Great performing and great value rubber 8)
