selling on behalf of friend
Due to time constraints, & lack of time to use it, I’m regrettably selling my Clio 172 Cup. I’ve owned this car for 4 ½ years & absolutely loved it! During this time, I’ve put numerous hours in to it & carried out modifications to make it into a track day car, so it could be ready to jump straight in it & have some fun!
The list is as follows:
Fully stripped of interior & carpets (Only has the door cards left in)
H&R Coilovers on the front - Running at -2.0° camber
H&R Shocks & springs on rear with height adjusters & -1.5° Camber Shims fitted to Rear Axle
Full Miltek Stainless Steel Exhaust with a de-cat fitted
KTEC Group ‘N’ ECU remap
OMP Alcantara steering wheel
Cobra Monaco ‘S’ Racing Seats mounted on Larkspeed Subframes
2 Sabelt 3 Point Racing Harnesses
Skoda Front Splitter Trim
Samco Silicone Coolant Hoses
Samco Induction hose
Pipercross Cone Filter
Heko Wind Deflectors
EBC ‘Red Stuff’ brake pads fitted to the front (Done 1 track day so still some life left!)
Grooved Discs fitted to the front
OMP Race pads fitted on the rear along with new grooved rear discs & wheel bearings
4 almost new Toyo T1R Proxes Tyres
Brand new handbrake cables fitted
All airbags removed along with full airbag wiring harness
The car is MOT’d until 26/5/2017.
Due to the above, I have used the car for track day, so has not done many miles in the last 4 ½ years. The mileage is showing at 62,400, so is low for its age. I have some old MOT’s for the car, which all ties in since I got the car in 2012.
Regarding any issues with the car, I’ll be upfront about them, so I’m not wasting anyone’s time, & they are not wasting mine
As I previously stated, this is a track day car, so does have a few minor chips, dents, scratches as shown in the pictures.
The engine has become noisy on tick over, which I have been reliably informed is the ‘De-Phaser’ pulley - This doesn’t affect the drive, but it is quite noisy when ticking over. I would suggest putting a belt on it at the same time as I have never fitted one to it in the time I’ve had it.
The central locking will only lock the car on the remote, it won’t open the car. You have to use the door lock to open it up (Which activates the alarm until you put the key in the ignition). Again, this didn’t bother me as I keep it in my garage & don’t use the alarm/locking!
The tyres go flat very quickly, which is only due to a very poor wheel paint effort - they don’t seem to seal on the sidewall. Again, an easy fix if you have the time.
The ‘SERV’ light is also on due to no airbags in the vehicle
Horn inop - It seems to be the wiring, not the fuse as there is power getting to it.
In short, it’s a great fun car, with plenty of power & handling which needs a bit of time & money. I am a realist & I know you don’t get any money back for the time you put in, but it’s worth plenty in the parts fitted to it alone. I have a folder with a load of receipts for parts in it from the previous owners, along with 2 keys (Remote inop on 1 key), and the bookpack.
I had kept the original exhaust & Catalytic converter for when it needed an MOT (No Cat on currently), but this was taken from the side of my house, so you will need to arrange this fir the next MOT.
