best CAI for Phase 1 V6

Hi Guys,

whats the best Cold air intake for Phase 1? I am currently running on stock so deciding to get it replace. I saw on Ktec racing there is a BMC carbon airbox induction kit. Is that ok? Or there is better option?

Viper is ready to go.

BMC CDA needs some additional plumbing.

Both very nice additions. I went BMC as it's worth the hassle.
There's a post on here from ColinG in how to best plum it in with silicone hoses.

1) Usually it's best to drive the car for a few months and then decide if it needs any alterations.
A friend bought a VX220 a few years back and sent it straight to the garage to change the suspension.
It was so hard he hated driving it and sold it after less than 500miles and lost money....

2) why have you referred to it as a 'Cold' Air Intake?
Does it hang outside the engine bay?

The induction noise is quite compelling.
Arguably, there a BHP or two.

The big win is that the replacement OEM Renault filter is silly money. However there are now aftermarket reusable ones available as an alternative.

Hi can u get the link for the plumbing on the BMC air filter? I was looking at the BMC air filter at Ktec engineering and was thinking not bad if i want better sounding induction noise.

I loved the noise of the pipercross on my old car. That extra whooshing at low revs and the scream at high revs was great. Never heard the BMC from inside the cabin, but never heard a bad word about the noise.

From memory Peter255 proved the Pipercross to release an extra horse or two over his BMC.

Im a convert to the OEM set up now though, its up there with best sounding cars out of the box.
