Battery size.

I ordered a battery for the vee and it was delivered today but it's not the same size as the current one. I don't really know much about batteries if I'm honest so I was just wondering if a 670A with 71AH would do the job

thanks james

I have fitted a much smaller and lighter one with no problems. be careful though as when and if the day comes that your engine does not fire up straight away, the cranking time will be limited.

I went to buy a battery from Halfrauds recently and the one listed for the Vee was wrong - this may be the case with other parts catalogues.

The 670A, 71AH should do the trick though but as Mark says would not crank as long - especially if you have the dreaded Vee 'dodgy starting' issue which seems to be quite common ...

For info - I ended up buying a beefy Bosch 'silver' battery which was the same size as the Vee battery was the HSB096 - 780 starting amps, 77AH with a 5 year warranty.

Yeah I've been having a nightmare trying to get the right one everything everywhere is wrong. "You need a battery that size for a Clio, surely it's a 540 you mean". Yeah my car does crank for quite a long time at points but I don't know if that is due to the battery or the starter. Guess I'll find out soon.
