Hello chaps.

Please help, at my wits end here. First time parents on our first Christmas... What on earth do i get the Mrs from the little one? She is saying she wants something that means something to her and blahhh.

So far i have got her a personalised card of funky pigeon ha.

I have always disliked Christmas, but now i hate it!!

Please!

You need to be careful here mate, setting a precedent for the next x-number of years...

Hand made is the way to go - bit of paint on the bairns hand & viola 'Dad & kid hand prints'

Or you could just say I got you a baby what more you want?!

Her favorite pic of your baby, have it printed on a canvas frame... Job done... Little effort not to much cost, but will make the missus smile (after all its her favorite pic of the baby)....

This reminds me get lucy one of George done tomorrow :)

First world problems in the 21st century ....I'd go and ask your dad what he got from you to give to your mum for your first Christmas ;-)

A few years ago my sister a got framed collage of kid #1 first paintings, family photos and anything of happiness for that year including mucky hand prints & glitter prints from the construction.
When #2 came along her hubby done similar thing for her again this time with help of a 4 year old, say no more........
But he also got her some ear defenders & a compressed air horn for those moments that can happen in a household with screaming kids at Christmas.

1)Go get a hand or foot casting done by a professional, in a box frame. They're really nice. I bought one of my daughter and my ex nabbed it when we split, I want to steal it off the wall every time I am round there!
Something like this: http://www.everlastingcastings.co.u...2_Q265bpZcF96DQcfdB8czLzD9XlqX3C8waAta68P8HAQ

2)Charm bracelet, with one charm that represents the baby (Angel or whatever)
Charm bracelets are a massive win for presents cos when you are stuck for birthday or xmas you just buy a couple of nice charms. Lasts for years.

3)Family photo session. I had one earlier this year, get one with a proper 'tog in a studio (if you're near the midlands I'll hook you up). Wish i'd done it before.
Take some props and have a bit of fun with it.

I got our lass a pandora bracelet for her birthday once. Fucking thing was leather & she's a vegetarian (although I am working on converting her*). Mind you the charm things are so expensive it was a lucky escape

I got my Mrs one like this...
http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/touchonsilver/product/personalised_medium_pendant_necklace

Basically she got a presentation box that had a kit inside where you took a print of hands or feet or both and send that off and they cast them into a silver necklace with an enscription such as weight, dob, date.....
My Mrs wears it every day!

Another year I bought a pair of pendant earrings made of our daughters birth stone, and put them on necklaces and gave one to each of them.

Pandora a are always a winner, they often do enscribed bracelets too.

Or get a favourite photo of the 2 of them / 3 of you and get an artist to copy it in a funky way, such as my mate does.

We've got a family picture of the 3 of us done already and I'm thinking of getting him to do one from my wedding.
They are really really good.

Hand made anything, especially with dates names and event I.e Xmas 2015.
Doesn't seem to mean much now, but 5 years down the track, it brings it all back. We did cheap Xmas ornaments for the tree of the kids, normal photos just turned into ornaments. They come out every year, and every year we have a laugh at how much we have all changed from the year before or the year before that.....A bit like when your Nanna or Grandad used to come over and say "my, haven't you grown" followed by a fresh spit on an old hanky to wipe some shit off your face, with no concept of friction burns!!

Made this thread and haven't even had the spare 5 minutes to read the replies recently *palm face*

Brilliant suggestions. I have gone with a Mom pandora charm, a phone case with a picture of the little one on, a mom mug and a Name a star gift and have called the star the full name of the little one, That may sound pretty crap to you but there is a little story that she bought me a name a start gift when we got together and we never named it as we couldn't think of a name so i thought it was appropriate.

Nice one for the suggestions, great ideas!
