The T.I.B.
is rarely serious
I hate ASDA.
(n) I hate the adverts. I hate the naff green colour scheme. I hate the fact the aisles are just less than two trolley widths apart, it seems. More than anything I hate the type of people it attracts: Fat, greasy, unkempt, swearing single parents. And why do they always wear tracksuits, I've never seen them sprint around the supermarket, they normally stand in my way arguing about their choice of 99p frozen pizza.[imgr]http://trustedplaces.com/uploads/placepics/ldc_1423n8r.c140x140.jpg[/imgr]
Anyhow. I went in there the other night. It's open 24 hours a day now apart from sundays (which includes the end of saturday and the start of monday).
And it is very close to where I live (my actual ASDA pictured right).
And it is SO cheap! I prefer to go in the back entrance because I can fill the bottom of my trolley with tins, cans, frozen food etc and leave the delicate pastries and fruit til last. Strange that they are selling a bag of potatoes for 37p and the same for a bag of carrots. Apples were a quid a bag and Flash cleaners were two for a quid.
So the point of this tale. I was browsing down the electrical aisle. They sell a TV screen for £749, well nobody's gonna buy that now are they, not out of an ASDA trolley. They have a section about computers. Computers bore me but I do like to replace my keyboard every year or so, they get filthy (well mine do.)
(n) So I take a look. I eventually go for the ASDA keyboard. It's £8, it's black, and the main point is the keys have a nice soft action. Much better than the £5 smart price version although it looks the same. Bargain.
So I get it home, take it out the box, go to plug it in and guess what?
THE LEAD WON'T REACH FROM MY DESK TO MY COMPUTER BELOW
Isn't that just a complete waste of time, waste of plastic, manufacturing equipment, assembly labour, packaging and shipping from china? Isn't it a waste of the time of the checkout girl who served me and the one who'll have to give me a refund tomorrow? I just don't get it
