Anyone knows this Trophy racer?

That link above is pretty much everything I know about it.

It's modified from standard, I assume to make it more competitive. Air jacks is a most useful mod too!

IMO standard cars are the most desirable, but I think the asking price is about spot on its current value.

A useable and very rare ex woks racer :approve:

Seems like it this one has sold - how much was it advertised for?

Its advertised for €30,000, I believe its still for sale.

As it goes the link in the original post is quite old, but there is a newer one Here

Thanks for the answers guys. What do you reckon the investment potential is for these cars?

Tough question to answer, some of the cars are mint, but have no race history, some have great race history, but are complete wrecks.

I think investment potential is very much individual car and history dependent.

The market for trophy cars is far smaller than the road cars, and they are far less usable.

Very few cars left remain exactly in trophy race series form (i.e. unmodified). But, I think that original cars with good race history, or the ones in extremely good condition will prove a reasonably good investment. Particularly those that are in period race spec (and livery)

For example, I would suggest any of these cars would be worth a pretty penny and are the ones you want to buy as an investment (there are a few more, but just picked the good ones!:

Perhaps these two take the top spot, both for different reasons.

Hmm quite interesting. I suspect this could be returned to almost like it was raced in the German trophy series. However there is still the issue what to use it for, other than the occasional track day, which would still, no doubt, be very Cool. Other than that it is just a VERY cool piece of kit. Might go and have a look at it. Would look cool next to my mk1 Vee in the garage...

Also, with a little work they can be road legal [smilie=yay.gif] been done a few times.

That will most likely never happen in Denmark though.
Denmark is notoriously strict when it comes to cars. Would be awesome though. I could build everything into my road car, but that would be a shame. Would love to run the mk 1 on a set of trophy wheels though (2 extra sets included).
I am taking to the guy this weekend. The car has been for sale for so long, that if I can make a really good deal on it, then I might be interested...

Similar predicament as what I found myself in Dennis, would have loved a full on Trophy but realistically wouldn't get used enough on track days ect. Also I didn't fancy going the full strip down of my illiad Ph2 and fitting cage. Then Duncan kindly passed me some details of a damaged Ph2 car that had been re-shelled with a Trophy shell ( plus other race bits ) and set up for rally events but also road legal ;)

I'm hoping to change a few things in the future but will be a long term project.

Good luck with the viewing and hope a 'good' deal can be sorted as we would love a few more trophy's in the club ;)

Wow that is cool Phil. You comment about making It road legal, made me think though. What kind of chassis number does the trophy cars have? Is it a similar number to the road cars? In that case, it might be possible to register it in Denmark.

This is a trophy chassis number:

[album]14338[/album]

which you can see is totally different to a road car.

These do not have type approval for road registering. So you would need the ID of a road car, hence the re-shelling option, which a few have done before.

As Duncan mentioned the trophy chassis numbered as above photo but the 'spare' trophy shells didn't have any identification ( so I've been told ) and that allowed my car to be re-shelled with the donor trophy shell and use the ID of the Ph2 car so all above board with the V5 showing 'Clio V6 255' :approve:

Yeah I can see that will make it a bit difficult. Anyways I would just love to own one, as they are just so damn cool... :approve:
