Thats a 4 cylinder turbocharged motor Stevo. Not as evocative as a howling V6 but probably a damn site quicker.

but it's a trophy car though, couldn't work out if it was a turbo'd trophy engine...

Look closely mate, it has 4 inlets of some sort. Is probably a Trophy engine but the 2 liter type. Is definatly a Trophy V6 shell though.

theres a bi turbo trophy with a different engine aswell, a massive thread is somewhere on a foreign forum. might be converted by the same people.

A little late, but i now know about this car!

Originally raced in the German DMSB 'Beru Top 10' series, Trophy #62 was used for endurance racing between 2001 - 2003 by team DCI racing, it was fitted with with a 1.9 turbo diesel engine Link to DTI Racing website

The car was returned to its original engine, and raced in the French FFSA "Coupe De France Des Circuits" by Jacques Simonin in 2009-2011.

I have a magazine article on this car, but it is all in French.


There was also a second Diesel Turbo (which is mentioned above), It was originally green and built by Renaultsport. That car was damaged, sold and rebuilt with ph2 panels and painted white and red then used in French Rally events.
