Anyone got the K-Tec full exhaust system

That pic looks like the Janspeed system with sports cats.

Interestingly I was in exactly the same position as you a while back.

I sold my QS back box and got a 2nd hand Janspeed full system but with no cats.

The high flow cats will pass the MOT, but the system used to light the emission slight on older versions. I suspect the same will still be true. Due to that I went all out for the full decat.

If i'm right in identifying the system then that gained from memory between 5 and 10 BHP ages ago when dyno'ed on other cars, and brought the torque in lower down. My car certainly has more torque at lower RPM than before. Also amusingly my MPG went up by 10% since fitting.

Overall highly recommmended.

BUT my car is running the off the shelf RSTunign remap and need to be custom mapped (I had it on the rollers and it is overfuelling so bear that in mind)

Did you take yours to RS Tuning Peter ? how was it after ? and did the decat system run poor before the remap?

My remap is from the group buy. The remap predates the zorst. The Remap was good on a std zorst system, and defiantely made the car feel stronger. I'm not complaining about it at all. All the people who had it done were happy. I'm going to try to get upto RSTuning to get Paul to do me a bespoke map. I'm just saying I know after a session on the rollers a that the fuelling is off at the top end now. Which I guess is due to the higher flow without the cats.

I've just bought a janspeed back box only and well pleased with it for sound and performance.

Also to echo Peter's point "That pic looks like the Janspeed system with sports cats" was told that the K-tec exhaust is "very similar" to the Janspeed, with the exception that the Janspeed is 275 quid vs Ktec is a bit more expensive :wink:

I think I was quoted 660 for the janspeed manifold / sports cats. Its worthwhile phoning them direct so pm me if you want details cos they seem to be happy to give further discounts
 
Is the Janspeed only £275 then? I was getting prepared to fork out £500 on a K-tec or QuickSilver. I cant honestly see how a silencers can be priced at £500. Don't get me wrong I know manifolds and cats are fairly pricey but theres bugger all to a V6 back box.

He in HK so prices will be very different
 
The backbox is only 275 and I ordered mine from UK and shipped it over.

Cos I'm outside of EU = no VAT, so if you buy in the EU you will be charged 275 + VAT.

Well pleased with mine as in soundwise when tootling or blasting about and no boom at 2-3k.

Just call them directly and ask for a special price or pm me if you want names / numbers.

I'm currently considering a K-tec as the FOX backbox on the car is unbearable for motorway cruising at 3-4krpm (can't hold a conversation in the car), but now that you mention Janspeed as a less expensive option I am intrigued. Can you please PM me a contact person at janspeed? Based on their website it's around 957 sterling for the manifold, but I can't tell if the backbox is included.

I wouldn't mind paying extra for a quieter system, so does anyone have experience in the noise levels between full k-tec and full janspeed (decat, manifold + backbox)?

It would be nice if Peter eventually got to Paul at RS for a custom tune so then Paul can sell us that tune for a decat/manifold/backbox for those of us unable to drive over to RS...
