ANOTHER BAST@RD COIL...!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRR

That's the 3rd coil gone tonight (ironically the same one that went only 4 WEEKS AGO :evil: )....came out of work in the p*ssing down rain, got totally drenched running to the car, only to hear the now-familiar "SHERMAN TANK" sound coming from the engine bay accompanied by a flashing engine light...!!! I felt like doing this to FBMM......GRRRRRRRRRRR

.....couldn't have picked a worse night.....it rained and rained and rained and rained....the lane looked like this....

Anyway, managed to get the coil changed and the Vee sounds okay-ish :s looks like I might need a shipping order of coils to last me till Dec at this rate..... :evil: [smilie=doubt.gif]

I say okay-ish....couldn't really hear the sound of the engine with the torrential rain battering the Vee... :s :evil: (fingers crossed FBMM should be okay tomorrow when I go to work....)

Blimey looks like you've been unlucky there Jainy Out of interest what type of coil are you replacing the duff one's with ? Renault, Peugeot, any other type, the reason I ask is that when I had two go at once I replaced them with Peugeot ones and (fingers crossed I haven't had any trouble since) maybe I've just been lucky,I'm sure most of us have seen the post about coils that are available for only £18.10 + vat so it's a cheap fix now.

Out of interest while I was at my local friendly garage getting the Beast MOT'd last week I mentioned the coil issue and my mate told me that it's also a common problem on Scenic's as well [smilie=icon_eek.gif] so obviously Renault are fully aware of the problem, what did surprise me though when he told me that VW Passat's also have coil issues as well [smilie=icon_eek.gif] so we aren't alone suffering this problem.

I hope that FBMM has forgiven you for beating him with a stick and that you've now made things up with him :hug:

Hahaha!! Yes, me and FBMM have made up :hug: I love him again now...!! (well like most women, until he does something wrong again..!! LOL! :badgrin: :badgrin: )

You know the reno sport forum where you can ask the experts?? I thought id ask them if they know about the coil issues (I have replaced two in 4 months ownership) but guess what they didnt post a reply to that question could anyone he feels annoyed about the coils maybe do the same??
