Alternator

Would anyone here know if the alternator can be replaced in situ? I can tell the AC compressor needs to be dropped out of the way but I am not sure if it can be done without engine out or removing the subframe. Hopefully it can be replaced in situ similar to the starter motor, it is possible but very tight space to work in. Anyone have knowledge on the alternator? Thanks!

The previous owner of my car swapped out the alternator and starter with out removing the engine. How he done it though i don’t know sorry.

Thanks for the info it is helpful. I am trying to figure out the difficulty. Does anyone else know how to replace the alternator?

looking at my engine on the table you might have to remove the air con pump and bracket to get it out obviously it will be best to go from underneath the car.

Thanks for the help! The AC pump needs to be removed as this is underneath the alternator. On top of the alternator is the power steering pump and the pulley covers a bolt that needs to be removed from the alternator therefore the power steering pump pulley needs to be removed as well to get at the alternator.

Yet does anyone have any idea whether this can be done without dropping off the subframe? The subframe can block much of the access for your hands to fit into.
