Alarm Problems

does anyone know how to stop the bloody alarm going off randomly, mine keeps randomly setting itself off during the night (seems to only be the night aswell) it beeps four times when u turn alarm off

anbody have any clues??

Spider in car, some one using a mocro wave.

Check that all switches are O.K. in particular the bonnet t, they can get water in them.

This has been covered before as there are a lot of V6's with alarm's going off all the time.

Mine goes off at work every time a bus, truck or fast car passes. I've totally stopped this by turning ignition on and off twice after killing engine then locking doors within 20 seconds. Three bleeps means that the sensors inside are disabled, end of problem.

Mine goes off a lot too. When I open it the alarm bleeps 4 times, although I'm sure the other day it bleeped twice.

I gather I need to check for spiders, moths, passing lorries, microwaves, planes and anything that might get somewhere near the V.

Do the 4 beeps mean anything in particular?

Yep, you're right Stan....

I had shed loads of issues with my 182 alarm - and I mean LOADS of issues...calling out the AA, 2 days in Reno etc., etc., I've heard from lots of different sources (anecdotal, yet in context) that there are major design issues with the 182 alarm and the Vee...?? :s You'd have to ask someone on here, a lot more knowledgeable though to verify that....:D

I've had a couple of issues with my Vee alarm, but that appears to be solved now...:D

The alarm beeps when you unlock the car, to let you know that it has gone off in your absence (or more likely, whilst outside your house at 3am all by its self!). the number of beeps tells you what set it off. 4 meens it was the volumetric sensors.
